Re: XM Strut Mounting
That price is just silly or rude (or both). The secret is to hoard a spare load
of old Xm's about the place!
Those cars on ebay for £100 start looking very appealing...

Re: XM Strut Mounting
I think they remain available just long delivery from France now.
If ordering new XM strut heads then take care to identify the correct part.
As well as being handed there are at least 3 different types fitted to XM's over the production run.
Most are not interchangable unless you swap the strut as well.
Sadly I think that Andrew's suggested route of securing secondhand ones is not going to keep us all going.
The supply of XM's is drying up fast and the condition of recovered strut heads suspect where you can find them.

Re: XM Strut Mounting
Hi Les
I was only looking at a C5 strut head last week with the same idea.
The fact that the metal cone was made of treated steel suggests that Citroen finally managed a competent design for a reasonable working life.
None of this XM and Xantia rot out with rust every 10 years crap.
Unfortunately the C5 was not a scrapper.
A look at the Citroen manuals suggests it will not be an easy conversion though.
