robert_e_smart wrote:That 2.5 I had was declared scrapped by the previous owner because they didn't want to sorn it.

I called the DVLA and they said that it had a scrap marker on it, and that they could remove it when I applied for a new V5. New V5 arrived and had no problem

Call Swansea and see what they have on file about the car.
I've just rung DVLA and after going through the automated system eventually got put through to an operative who said they would tell me the details but then cut me off.
I phoned back and spoke to another operative who before asking for any details said they wouldn't tell me over the phone, but would issue another V5 if the car was genuine.

I then said that he was contradicting what I had been told by the other operator so he said they wouldn't say and cut me off.

Great Service..

I guess I'll just have to take a chance now, but the details ring true and it does exist on the DVLA tax database, so it should be OK, I think. :?

If it exists on the database then its not recorded as scrapped Will, get the V5 and all will be well.

It exists but shows as RFL due in 2004. I'm not unhappy with that, it adds up.
