Your answer surprised me 'cause we don't have this problem here. As some members ever tell me you've got more problems then us with rust.
The famous "dôme de sphère" as we call it in France only have ruber problems, we never heard about rust on the steel plate.

Yes, England is very good at spreading the rust around :/

I have never seen a rusted mounting here in Australia, either. Only torn rubber.
