A small gift.

Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

You lot are such a bad influence!!!!! :D

Well guys, an Activa is the first Citroen I ever thought of buying rather than just dreaming about. I like how you all gently pointed me in that direction and didn't ram the point home, I suppose there are many different ARCS my future car ownership could take...

Anyway with my 9000 Aero sitting about (and due to go SORN so I can polish it up and fix a few niggles before thinking of selling it) there isn't money for any other car- I should be putting all my (limited) resources towards looking after the XM.

I have to admit that I am a bit curious about messing about with the fuelling on the 2.1 for just a bit more go- but if I do it I want to do it properly, no ham-fistedness. Need to do my research so any suggestions of reading material are welcome!

I know 2.5s are supposed to have accounted for a sizeable chunk of UK XMs sold, but I don't see many up for sale, most of the ones I have seen recently have been estates. Or high price "cherished" examples. I see far more TCT examples for sale. I imagine a manual TCT with sport mode on, and some boost "enhancement" in the form of a remap could be a good blaster!

Without doubt the 2.5 is a nicer, more smooth car to drive, but that comes at the price of fuel economy.

Due to the early 2.1td being 200kg lighter and the Lucas pump delivering more fuel instantly, it is surprisingly quick once moving.

The 2.5 only pulls ahead at high speed due to having greater ultimate power, but up to 80mph, there is almost nothing in it.

You have a 9000 Aero, and you are thinking about a TCT. I have driven a 9-5 Aero, and wouldn't even see the TCT as anything near as quick!!!
