Will, thanks for those Buckethead links; I'm thoroughly enjoying them. I think they have just recruited an extra fan :D

The second loudest and possibly the best gig I went to was Floyd in Newcastle in 1974, sitting in Row F. They did all of Wish You Were Here and Dark Side -oh that was cool! I now listen to a lot of "new" blues like Joanne Shaw Taylor but recently rediscovered a Welsh group called Man: "Be Good to Yourself At Least Once a Day" has been given a battering over Christmas.

The loudest? Golden Earring (Radar Love) in Durham Students' Union, again about 1974/5

whole of wish you were here in 74... um not quite. the album was still not complete then.. in the 74 tour they did the whole shine on suite.. then they had have a cigar stuck in the middle of it. welcome to the machine and wish you were here tracks were still not written in 74.. they came later in early 75 and went direct to the studio album. the two other tracks performed then were raving and drooling and gotta be crazy which were later shelved and became the main tracks for animals after a bit of re working in 77... then they took 75 off and never toured for wish you were here. instead during the 77 animals tour dooing both animals and wish you were here in full...

74 setlist.. roughly consisted of raving and drooling, gotta be crazy, shine on pt.1, have a cigar, shine on part 2 then whole of dark side and usually echoes for encore... originally shine on was a single whole piece without have a cigar in late 73.
