What oil type?

Off topic chat about anything you like. Doesn't have to be about XMs (though they will inevitibly come up!). You can even discuss non-Citroens :o in here!

I just buy Total Quartz 7000 10/40 ( now re-branded as Quartz 'Classic' ). £16 for 5 lts at the local motor factors.

I guess from the discussion above that as long as it's 5w40/10w40 and you do regular changes it doesn't matter what oil you use, just find the best bargain!

I could never run a car for it's manufacturer intervals. My stepdad's work zafira is on 90k now at 2 years old and it's had 1 change in it's life. Poor thing! Of course he never bothers but he said that it's much better in colder weather after the change it had last autumn.

I think that's a fair statement Sam, find the best deal on oil that's of reasonable quality and meets or exceeds the API S or C recommendations for your engine, which all will these days, and change it regularly.

I'm like you on intervals. I cannot grasp how an engine can survive happily on such extended change intervals. 5K is my absolute limit between changes.
