Better stick to XM's :)

€20,000 is cheap nowadays

$52,900

$77625

$322,000 - yep, that was $322,000!

A bog standard non matching numbers car is £15-20,000

a matching numbers car can add a few thousand and a perfect restoration is easily £25-30,000 nowadays.

There was a tatty car, worse condition than mine at the same auction and it fetched $24,000.

Another similar laid up for a decade Kr200 sold in England the week after for £15,600.
 Good lord! So your sitting on a gold mine then Campbell.

Russ.

As you can tell I buy at the bottom end of the market. Years ago I was buying bubble cars for £50-500 a time. Nowadays I buy citroens. Even the smart roadster was brand new only £8900.

I seem to have had a fair bit of cleaning from running veg oil as the car seems to have a better response to putting the foot down. When I went up to 75% veg oil the cut off solenoid started misbehaving first with not always cutting the fuel and leaving the car running although ignition off and keys out. Then lack off fuel at the pump in the morning, poor starting then stopping and needing cranked over lots to get started again. I have returned to 50% for now.

Currently using the Tesco £5 off when you spend £40 offer on the reciept which means the £1 a litre drops to 88 pence for 42 litres. Happy days.

I was shopping in Asda last night and noticed that a 2 litre bottle of 'Crisp 'n Dry' vegetable oil is on a 'Price Offer' again, but at an unbelievable price
2 x 2 litre bottles for only £3 (Or buy one 2 litre bottle for £3.25) :?

Also available on line:-

The sell by date on the 2 bottles I bought was March 2015, so I'll be giving the chip-pan a clean and a 'fresh replenishment' of oil this weekend !

The crisp n dry stuff isn't bad price wise just a PITA to decant into something to put into a car tank :)

Currently Bookers offer KTC boxed soya oil for 74p in 20litre plastic cubes.

Rapeseed is good though as it doesn't wax up until a lower temp compared to most oils.

I'd be tempted with the rapeseed in Kings Lynn if i had a trailer that could take it all :)

was thinking about investing one of those large plastic containers 500lts, rapeseed can be bought at a very low price when dealing with over 200lts

205l drums are cheap enough to buy and use. They also have a good standard fitting on them for fitting pumps to it as well.

I have one in my garage but haven't found anywhere willing to offer a good enough discount and good oil to bother using it yet.

May try that one in ormskirk and see.

There used to be somewhere in York that was offering big batches of fresh pressed stuff, even better as it doesn't have the anti foaming agent in it so better for the engines :)
