Another not an XM!!

Post by MTXM » Wed Mar 04, 2015 7:16 pm

I saw one of these yesterday that happened to belong to anther XM enthusiast who also has an Alpine and Lotus Elite. Unfortunately the car was a non runner and partly obscured under a cover but it looked great me. Here is some further info: http://www.rootes-chrysler.co.uk/car-de ... heera.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I must admit I have not come across this lovely little French car before. With regards, Matthew T.

It is decades since I saw one of those, but the triple seating is noteworthy.

Their other model, the Rancho was the forerunner to today's "soft roaders".

The Bagheera just screams Alfa to me, especially the rear end. And the Rancho was just light years ahead of its time.

One comment I read Neil was that the styling was more Italian than French, but still very nice I think! I am not so sure about the Rancho Will, for myself at least! Regards, Matthew T.

There is a Matra Murena that lives somewhere round here. Again a three seater. Interesting little sports cars Matra Simcas.
The interiors are brilliant, single spoke steering wheel too.

I remember being very impressed by a Rancho someone owned at school back then -there was nothing else similar. Maybe only the Lada Niva. But the Rancho looked much more futuristic.

I hadn't realised the Baghera and Murena were two different cars!

I just learnt of the existence of this though, and I like it even more:

What a design. Look at how they concoted the various forms making up the car. So unique. Makes me want to cry. Take me back! I can't stand 2015's roads!
