Useful new MOT history check site for those in the UK

Post by JD01JD » Sat Nov 07, 2015 1:46 pm

Hi guys,

Just stumbled upon a very useful new website for those in the UK - it gives entire MOT history back to 2005.

Here it is: https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

Apologies if this is old news / well known, a quick google shows it was only launched a month ago.

It's been up for longer than a month, a lot longer.

But yes it is an excellent tool when buying a car, every mot result, advisory and failure items also noted in a easy to read layout, you always had to enter the vehicle V5 serial number or latest mot cert serial number to get access, what i know is new is the fact you can check any car with just its reg number and make now so its easy to see any carshistory .

Doesn't often help me - although both my XM's were bought on the road, quite often my purchases haven't been on the road since before this system was set up, and a couple have even been parked up long enough to not be on the SORN system!
