Hmnmmm, perish the thought.
I really can't see why pretty much the perfect spec car to match the wanted requirements cannot be improved
with the addition of nicer looks. both inside and out combined with the lack of rust and airbags!? Does it HAVE
to come fitted with a diesel cat and an N*BL number plate...

I'm thinking about it - and making a few enquiries, perhaps you can help, are the Mk1 and 2 doors the same and is the silver the same colour?

Have you got spare silver s2 panels then Peter? I can check out the silver
paint code on the s2 my father now uses if it helps. Does this s1 need panels
then; am I missing something here?
Andrew
<<edit>> oops, realise now there was a dent in one of the rear doors.
Didn't get shown well in the pics though...

To be fair to Peter's cautious 'enthusiasm' there's something wrong, broken or missing in every picture
on the auction and the "D" spec is the base car without lekky rear windows and possibly even sans ABS.
Mind, being a late s1 (or a s1.5) it should have the more sorted electrics and ABS of all s1's though.

Gawd, almost a year ago and I was saying the same things to Peter
then too that I just have earlier this evening. Not sure whether I like
this being pointed out campbell...
let's face it, Peter is only going to spring for a s2 the same way some
of us prefer the original
(and best!!) s1.

Shows the value of posting interesting ebay auction pictures and descriptions in their entirety here mind.
Would be damned difficult for someone to confidently present an XM with lower mileage if a predated
description lists a higher one or with differing details with us mob being hawk eyed about every minute
aspect of the car!!
