Re: A confession...
I simply have never got to grips with the C5s interior and exterior styling. It baffles me as to what Citroen were thinking when they penned it. It looks like nothing else but not in a good way. The fact that it looks widest just under the side mirrors is a major styling faux pas. There is nothing about this car to commend it, frankly. However, I do hope it gives you good service and I trust it is at least comfortable and useful. That´s all I can think of to say that´s positive. One day I´ll find a Citroen designer´s commentary on the rationale for the awkward styling.

I felt exactly the same way before I drove it, I remember getting into one in a showroom when they first appeard and thinking what a load of rubbish it was compared with the XM - that was until I drove it, I must admit that if I shut my eyes to the styling I am very impressed, it rides much like the XM and seems very quiet and refined, the 2.2 engine which I definitly didn't want is so smooth and lively I am half tempted to keep it, the only problem being its about 20% worse on fuel that the 2.0 litre, I struggled to get 50 mpg at a steady 60 mph on the motorway but the 406 will do 60+ with ease.
