I got £40 by weight for the one I took in today.
It also fitted in the back of an XM estate.

Not sure what else I could have saved off mine and I got the princely sum of £76 straight off the trailer.

£202.00 each for mine collected, I think he had his eyes on Johns cars ;) Went to Bracknell today to get a truck for my son, the 406 averaged 60.2 over the 270 mile journey at a fairly steady 60 mph but on the A303 which many will know is somewhat hilly, the 2.2 C5 made barely 50 mpg on the flatish M5 to Bristol - not impressed.

If you aren't impressed with the C5s MPG figures Peter, don't be eyeing up John's 2.5 Estates! My 2.5s trip computer is showing 38mpg! Then again, I drive it hard, and rarely get her on a long run.

38 mpg is pretty good fro a 2.5. Fuel economy was was always their Achilles heel.

I typically get around 39mpg with a lot of local stuff.
With mostly long trips it goes up to around 45mpg.
Those figures are based on mileometer/fuel calculations as I usually ignore the trip computer.
Bio at £1.10 a ltr does not seem to alter things any appreciable amount.
In the V6 auto's that I had a while back 24 to 28mpg was typical.
They were fun but that annual fuel bill signed their death warrant as the performance was no better than a good 2.5TD.
I particularly liked the auto XM in V6 form as it was a very relaxed drive experience.
A dramatic difference to the 2.1 auto slug that I just about tolerated for a few months.

I bought and tried a manual 2.1 XM estate a few years before.
It got sold on and replaced once I had tried a 2.5TD.
