Today I read that houses in Ireland go for as little as 8.000 euro's
What kind of a house do you get for that money? I wonder if I should relocate to Ireland instead of Thailand . . .

Very true. I have actually seen some original police documentation relating to the case of the bear killing and it is quite fascinating.

In the mid 1950s I lived in Mitcheldean from the age of 1 until 4. When we moved to the rather more upmarket Chipping Campden on the posh side of the river, my parents despaired of me ever being able to speak English. Despite their concerns I ended up teaching English for a third of a century.

My sister has done some counselling with young people in schools in the Forest over the last few years and it certainly seems to have retained some of its more esoteric idiosyncracies shall we say.

Looks like a nice home to have XMs in, though. :)

Nearly bought in Stars Pitch, Mitcheldean, but it fell through! I like Mitcheldean and I think we will all enjoy living in the Forest.

Had an XM out last night at the new pad - survey gets done next week and that'll be what may put a downer on it all.

Bank is happy to lend subject to survey and searches, will have the thick end of £30k in the bank after buying it and moving. Already trying to work out what we want to do to it. Mainly two showers inside, plus rack the workshops to put the car spares on, Want to cut the hedge down to a manageable height and depth too. We were being shown the civil war cannon ball found in the garden and the 1739 penny found when it was being renovated - just discovered it has two rather large lofts - yeah!

Can't wait and hope all goes through OK.

there are two family bathrooms, one up, one down, and both have mixer tap showers - want to install proper electric showers and go from there.

We have, as a result of house sale in Scotland, inherited a father in law - so one shower is for him (downstairs) and the other for us.

Can you tell I'm excited?

Unfortunately, the metal lather in the workshop will be going elsewhere with the current owners.
