I shall be doing the rounds again in the very near future but for the last two years Admiral has been the best on offer for my needs. For this last year I have insured our Multipla in my wife's name as it is her car with me as a named driver; a Saab 2.3t as my second car at renewal (now replaced by the XM

) with her as named driver and the Hyundai i10 as my main car with wife, son (25yrs prov licence), daughter aged 21 prov licence and daughter aged 18 (now 19) new driver. The total cost for that lot was in the region of £1200. Additionally I have the 2CV insured with Lancaster for sixty something pounds plus £25 for legal protection.
This brings me to a dilemma: even though those prices are in my opinion as good as I could hope for, as a retired geezer it's too much to be able to sustain, so something will have to go. The only untouchable is the Multipla - nothing is worth the pain I suffered when I sold her last one!! I really want to keep my two Citroens but the little i10 is a brilliant "local" car that we have had from new. I'm going to have to do some serious thinking over the next few weeks. The money I would get from selling the i10 would buy a lot of maintenance on the Cits...
Regards
Rob

None of them give a rats ass , all they want is your cash and that's is , I've had issues with Adrian flux and Lancaster but due to nobody even quoting me for my Zx16v I had to go back to Adrian fux , I only wanted an agreed valuation of £1800 and they wouldn't agree and said £1000 , so if anything does happen to the car what with the excess at £250 and the policy costs £330 I've got £420 , w****ers . And I know of people who get their scabby old mk2 escorts insured for silly money . Yet there's only a handful of Zx16v's left !!!!

To be honest this has not worried me, i remember when my dad got his first BX DTR that got killed, the insurance offered him £1000 which is what rough petrol ones were going for at the time, he got together a load of adverts and told them he wanted £2500 which is what he got in the end, the key is to not be brushed off with the first offer, you are insured to replace the car like for like and that is what they must do regardless of valuation.

Quite right Dean. I'm sure Matthew had a similar experience with one of his.
It's what you need to do. Get together adverts and prove to the lying s@#ts they are wrong and your right!
