Am I right in thinking that coincided with the intro of mk1.5 cars? Only makes sense with mine.

I thought there may be differences for the two engines Will for whatever reason! If you are correct about the 1992 intro then the car must either be manual, not on a 'G' plate, or on a personal reg. although the latter seems unlikely. I suppose there are two other possibilities which are that car is lhd, or was imported and registered early by Citroen UK, as for the six 24vs I uncovered, which also theoretically should not have existed! That does sound very plausible Russ! With regards, Matthew T.

The diesel auto wasn't available with the Lucas pump, hence it only came later, for any market.

Well mine is a June 22 1992 build and a mk1.5 and is an auto with Bosch...so I think it it could have been the introduction of auto Dervs.

Another possibility is the gentleman's Sister is American. Being totally stereotypical, she could have simply assumed it was an auto.

It will be very interesting to see what this car really is. Bet it is on a private plate.

This isn't all too far from me in Surrey and I'm actually going to be in W1U today which is just 4 miles away. I would be interested in taking a look at this today. Would you be able to forward me the details in a PM?
