The 1.6 HDI is a bit of a pup if neglected. My local Cit Specialist says that he never has any problems with 1.6 HDis he has serviced from new. He used the correct Total Low ash oil in them. My local regular mechanic hates C4 Picasso 1.6 HDis and their blown turbos!
