My XMs almost knew their way to the north of Scotland as did my CXs, we have done the trip every year since the '70s although we start a bit nearer than you. The first time we went to Wick it was 750 miles and took us 23 hours but since the building of the new A9 its now about 700 miles and 14 hours. We haven't been this year due to execptional cicumstances and I'm having withdrawel symptoms.
