I've only just read this. Surely the ability to drive any vehicle, whether owned by you or another, is the purpose of a trade policy. It seems odd for that to not be present.citroenxm wrote:Trade polices MOST CERTAINLY do cover own cars now! I spoke to one just yesterday!
The deposit and current car cancelation fee prevented me further. What you loose is cover to drive other cars 3rd party..

Re: Insurance
I think it means... If i drove your car on a private policy I'd be covered third party only... But with a trade policy im not covered unless i put your car reg onto my policy... Ie.. I cant just drive any car without telling them and putting on my policy...

Re: Insurance
Hmmm... i'm in same problem atm. Got 3 cars: (family wagon) Mitsubishi Grandis, Xantia (daily driver) and recently bought XM. Been thinking about getting classic car insurance for XM but looks like (for reasonable price) I can only get one with mileage limit to 3000 and price is still around 250-300 pounds. For a moment been thinking about selling my Xantia but it's worth more than I can get for it so decide to keep it. Now I'm checking around for best offer. Spend all day on phone and best I can get is 260 with 3000 limit and car must be kept in a garage overnight (which gonna be pain in ass because got small garage).

Re: Insurance
It's OK now. Menage to get one for £140. Lancaster refuse to insure car because had C cat in 2005. Every other insurance company was ok as longest got valid MOT and been used in last few years.Eddie nuff wrote:£250 - £300! Jesus wept I'd want it for half that.

Re: Insurance
Sounds great. I'll try them next year. Unfortunately had to change 3000 to 5000 miles. It's to nice to drive and can't resist do stay on the roadEddie nuff wrote:Adrian Flux have quoted £120 which includes their loyalty bonus, without stating how much that is. But it does include legal protection and personal protection.
