Pretty much second that; even with the OE sprung link in place, the brake pedal movement is only a couple of cm, from memory.
Would be most unusual if it had been removed, but anything's possible.

Hopefully one of you gets a chance to drive Grizzleph's car and can report. I wouldn't have thought that a non-Citroen owner would single the brake pedal out for special mention with the spring in place.
I didn't like the er, 'springy' feel of the pedal when I got mine, so replaced the spring. Have to say that it was a significantly more involved job than in a Xantia, but I'm happy with the result. Also was able to lubricate the pivot, having read on this forum about brakes locking up due to a seized pivot.

So, in the whole world, two people have removed the spring from the pedal link on their Xm...and both of them happen to live in Australia and be on Aussifrogs forum.
The spring link was added because drivers found the brakes on earlier models to be too sharp.
Maybe the link is being on Aussifrogs, and the need to try to prove that a Cx is a better car than an Xm...which it isn't.
Grizzleph didn't mention the spring, he said the brake pedal had no travel, which is correct compared to a regular master cylinder and servo assistance system.
IMHO, one issue on forums, and the Net in general, is that posters can get somewhat too theoretical.

BTW - not aware I've ever mentioned AussieFrogs on here, and for the record, I've never even ridden in a CX, let alone driven one!
