The Hydractive regulator has a screw in plug, which will be sealed with an O ring, I can't check the size of that at present.

See the diagram in this linked thread for the plug. viewtopic.php?t=8100

For rapid sinking check the return pipes for excess fluid return and also the brake doseur valve isn't being held partially on. A seized brake bell crank can hold the doseur valve slightly open, so it returns fluid rapidly.

See information regarding rapid sinking and slow to rise due to electrovalve issues, in the hydraulics thread viewtopic.php?f=13&t=10291

Hi DM. Greatly helpful! Brake Doeser valve, can you just clarify where that is? Thanks

I had trouble getting a seal for the rigid valve housing but I found one in house, its holding and I'm fairly sure that application will resist. When we took out the main thread bolt front of housing, lhm shot out at high pressure not a lot but it shot. We were wondering if this is normal or the cause of the front drop at first starting. Anyway it's back now and operating. So we ll see what happens. Still wonderimg about DOESER. Cheers.

The brake Doseur is mounted in the scuttle, under the wiper mechanism.

The Hydractive regulator will have had high pressure fluid trapped in it due to not depressurising in the correct order: Lower car, open 12mm bleed bolt on regulator, switch off engine.

Hi thanks yes we did that, possibly wrong order though, is that the only reason it would do it? Thanks for your help, should be back on the road soon. Xm SD TD Estate 92, leather seats, manual, cant be many of these I would think? Thanks for info about Doeser, is that an easy job to free the valve? One more question fur now

What model is it?

For rare items to keep, start at the front bumper and work your way to the back bumper, just strip and keep everything. You ideally want to end up with a few sweepings up to put in the bin.

A standard hydropneumatic system releases pressure from all locations by simply lowering the car and opening the 12mm bleed bolt, but a hydractive system uses system pressure to open the shuttle valve to the Hydractive regulator spheres.
If the engine is switched off before the car is lowered then the 12mm bleed bolt is opened, the system pressure drops and the closes the hydractive shuttle valve, thus locks suspension pressure in the Hydractive spheres and associated hydraulic block passages, hence the spurt of pressurised fluid.

To access the Doseur valve one would normally remove the plastic scuttle trim, but a seized bell crank can be lubricated and worked free from the opening at the end of the scuttle trim: spray with lubricant, and work it on/off repeatedly until free. Keep the pivot greased.
