Re: For those With An Oil burner (Fitted With a Bosch Pump)
I would love a single spoke, but it has to be leather!... very picky I know. I'm fine with the one it has...after all it is what it should have.

Back to veg oil. Unless you can get it cheap it's not worth bothering with as you get less mpg due to the lower calorific value.

Re: For those With An Oil burner (Fitted With a Bosch Pump)
I've also said this else where this morning.. I find that with the early td xm's 45 to 50mpg there's not much need to mess about making a mess.. Plus a lack of time to do it in the first place to filter out any crap..Dieselman wrote:Back to veg oil. Same with the hdi.. It currently does just enough mpg to get me about but it's getting to the limit where I may need to learn to make bio..
The best place I hear for cheap veggie other then chippies is a massive drum from Costco.. Worked out about 90ppl or something.. Cant remember now..

I'll check next time I go, but from memory, it's not that cheap anymore.

Re veg oil prices, Costco do a 20 litre drum for £18.75 which works out 94p a litre. You can buy 10 litres for 9.99 at Farmfoods.
Interestingly when I was in Egypt I found you could buy 5 litres for 30p - I made some enquiries on my return about importing it, no restrictions on the amount, no licence needed, private use is fine and only 9% import tax. It's the shipping costs that are crippling.

That's good oil prices...but this is my issue, if your not really benefitting then why bother with the mess and constant filter changes.

Re: For those With An Oil burner (Fitted With a Bosch Pump)
That's my point too russ.. While the hdi does 52mpg the xm s1 early cars about the same it's just affordable.. But when the price per litre passes say £1.60 then I may think again about bio or oil...

You can get 2 litres of Crisp n' Dry (rapeseed) for £2 in Asda (it seems to be a long-term offer).
I don't think it will be long before diesel passes the £1.50 mark for good.
