Ha ha!
Don't worry citroenxm - I took my 2.1 diesel auto out today for the last time before chopping it in at the Ruggs tomorrow for a V6. I think it could have been designed for me, it fits so well.
So get August and all the work out of the way and I think this works.

Manuals really are better. They not only perform better, but are noticeably more refined.

If performance is still lacking, have the pump and turbo pressure tweaked.
I reckon my Lucas pumped manual does 0-60 in under 10 seconds, whereas your Bosch pumped auto is 13 seconds. I need to sort the Bosch pump out...

Xantias never appealed to me. First the styling is not very Citroen and second, I don´t like the styling much. If I was looking at that class of car, I´d pick a 406 V6 as I think they are more competently assembled and look properly Peugeot. My father-in-law has one and it´s as smooth as butter to drive. The rear seating is excellent too and the boot is huge.

I'm sorry, the Xantia for me is clearly a more refined BX and there are hints of the XM in there too. Okay it might be a 'safe' design, but it is a good design.
I'm intrigued with tweaking the Bosch pump and turbo for more power. Rob...Ragger, his SED auto chucks out 130 BHP. Though he isn't sure how it was done.

The Xantia certainly looks like a Citroen to me.
Anyway, having changed my 2.1td for a v6 Exclusive from Patrick Rugg today all I can say is wow! Super interior, very smooth and capable V6, rides exquisitely.
I need to source a rear bumper insert (the aluminium worm) and side inserts, give it a bit of a detail, but it looks stunning in black with black leather. My neighbour popped over to have a look, he hadn't realised what a super looking inside they had.

Can you qualify this statement Will, I'm curious as to why this is so (in terms of refinement, the performance issue is an obvious one).
