Now that is excellent news Andrew...

I really wish you all the best there. It's time you had something good happen in your life and to find a girl into French cars as well - you've struck gold :D

I think in this case, the fault is with the farmer rather than the original poster on a/s. I once had a similar shed - except it was full of such rubbish as twenty bubblecars, a Jag S-type, Armstrong Siddeley Whitley, five NSUs, two Bedford CAs and a few scooters, plus about 3 tons of spares.

I was always paranoid about people seeing in it - and it was broken into once - thankfully all that was stolen was a Triumph Tina.

When I lost the shed - it was redeveloped - I sold a lot of cars as I didn't have cheap space for them anymore. It was heartbreaking but the sale brought in quite a few thousand (well, quite a lot, really) but even I ended up selling some things such as the Bedford campers for 'scrap' money. They've both been restored properly now.

Andy - I suggest a big clearout. I know it'll be painful, and I know some cars will go for scrap, but I'd even suggest removing the cars you really want, the spares you really need and then doing a similar thing to what we did with the Blue XM and dismantle for spares those cars that are too far gone, then try sell the ones that are 'too good to scrap'. What you do have is a luxury of time to sort things out - I had three months notice to quit and it took all that time and more to sort everything out.

You may only get 'scrap' for them, but some will get done up again. Some may surprise you as to how much you get ...

Start with the cars you have no sentimental attachment to and get down to a manageable fifteen or twenty in total. That way, you can work on them, you can save a couple for retirement (I have three microcars for my retirement restorations), keep them all in better condition and generally have a tidier life - you may need to as your personal circumstances and priorities change (for the better).

Oh, and not forgetting the panels at my house, they're still tucked away safe for you.

"A girl that likes old french cars" -does this specimen exist on this island?- How lucky!

To be fair to Andrew, I remember, 1-2 years ago, he had initiated an effort to reduce the collection, I remember he was offering a few on here, but there didn't seem to be much demand!
