Re: How many are left S1 V624v
The full details are set out in Technical Bulletin XM 0 No. 9 dated 28th February 1991.
This is an 8 page booklet issued to dealers only covering technical changes and the range of XM models for the 1991 Model Year.
It specifies down to length of carpet pile for the 4 different trim levels.
The second sentence states "Production of the 1991 model range started in July 1990."
As Paul states Trim Level 4 was only for the V6-24 (V6-24V in UK only).
The descriptive wording used for this Trim level was "Exclusive (4)".
Other features only available on the 24V were Alloys, Wood trim, Leather steering wheel with black chevrons, adjustable arm rest and drivers seat sides.
Citroen introduced changes and models variations for each model year virtually to the end of production.
No accidents here as each change was well planned and deliberate.
So the first few 1991 Model Year Citroens arrived in the UK just in time to get "G plate registration".

The Peugeot Renault Volvo V6 was a Douvrin engine too, made at that plant. I tend to think of the "Douvrin" engine as the V6 as it was introduced on the 605, 264 and R30 at the same time. There was also the Douvrin 4 cylinder which you are thinking of.citroenxm wrote:No, the early V6 is the PRV joint engine from the 70's...
The Douvrin engines NEVER got near the XM. They had peugeots XU family of four cylinder engines.
The Douvrin engines stopped at the CX
Wikipedia lists the XM as one of the many cars that got this engine. So, I think the early V6 was a development of the PRV from 1975.
"The Douvrin family was an all-aluminum straight-4 automobile engine designed in the early 1970s and produced from 1977 to 1996 by Compagnie Française de Mécanique, a joint-venture between Peugeot and Renault located in the town of Douvrin in northern France. It was produced in the same factory as the PRV V6, which also is sometimes known outside France as the "Douvrin" V6." says Wikipedia.
So, we have a terminology mix up.

I have always known it as the PRV V6. But yes I suppose it could be known as the Douvrin V6... Although never heard it called that before.

That´s the way I know it from the articles that accompanied its launch in 1975 and also from various classic car rags.

Both are acceptable names although Douvrin refers to the name of the factory that made them - they made a lot of engines there and many are known as 'Douvrins' I believe it was the only V6 they made there though.
PRV stood for Peugeot, Renault and Volvo - the three makers it was produced for.
The later ES9 V6 is occasionally known as the PR V6 as Volvo missed a trick and never used it. Silly Swedes...

Arguably the Silly Swedes had the last laugh with their decision to produce their 5 cylinder 2.5ltr engine producing up to 250bhp in the 850R known as the T5 engine. Then the 2.4ltr 5 cylinder at 140 - 170bhp, the 2.0ltr at 163bhp up to the T5 at 226bhp, all leading up to the 6 cylinder T6, with 2.8ltrs delivering 272bhp. Then there's the S80 2.9, with the 6 cylinder 2.9ltr 204bhp. All in-line, not a V in sight.
All in the 1990's.
All in the 1990's.
