For RHD XM's it never happened as they kept the plastic lenses to the end of production.
Minor changes were made about 1992 - Dip bulb cover shape, Outer reflector fixing, Power plug moved from Bulb rear cover to Case.
Minor change 1994 (Mk 2 XM's) - Nose cone fixing blocks moved forward approx 5mm.
LHD only 1996 - plastic lens dip beam divert pattern now cast into lamp glass.
