Even on a diesel? I can check now on my 2.5 but thought it would have been a different size to a petrol?

Cannot be sure about petrols as not had one for about 5 years now.
I am reasonably certain the tank head is the same for both Petrol and Diesel.
Just the petrol gets pump added to the lower part.
Looked over both types of those recently which led to the original statement.

Was there really a diesel engine available as early as a G-plate? I thought they came out a good bit later (6 months to a year?) The magazines tested diesel cars in May and June 1990.

And a perusal of the UK licence plate history shows that G ran from 1 August 1989 to 31 July 1990. There you are.

i just checked on service citroen and one front to rear metal pipe is 8mm and the other is 7mm,

I won't be able to change a metal pipe where it is now, I meant the rubber hoses which is what I'm assuming is perished. Going back Thursday to fix the leak, replace fuel with fresh and attempt to start it.

It really does need to be started as it's sunk to the ground and the underground car park exit is a steep circular loop, towing it will rip the rear bumper off.

The other thing I'm wondering about...I've been offered the loan of an A frame, but the car is an auto, I always thought you couldn't tow an auto with the drive wheels on the ground but getting conflicting info, saying you can tow it as long as it's kept below a certain speed. Anyone know if the 2.0 auto can be towed?

It can be towed I think but not for too long a period of time because the autobox can overheat, it has no cooling when towing. I think max.speed is higher but it is in the instruction manual somewhere. Must check, I hope never having to try towing.

The HP20 bible say you can tow up to 100km at a speed not exceeding 50km/h so I'd expect the same to apply to the HP18..

Even though the pump is not running the diff and rotating bits will still have splash lubrication so long as the ATF is up to level..

How far are you thinking of towing?
