Can we invite any other groups? Xantias maybe?

Once this is concrete, I can do any posters for the forums and signage for the site if needs be.

This is the difficult issue Paul. Mark has been in touch with me and said he cannot get anywhere with organising it. He has tried and tried. He is finding it very difficult to get funding and support from the CCC to organise any CXM rally of any kind, probably because there is no formal section. And pointing out the bleeding obvious here, as Franklin is quite right in saying, I do wonder if us XM owners really should give some more serious thought to organising a proper XM and maybe Xantia section in our own time for say next year.

But I'm afraid, at the moment, I am of the understanding there isn't anything going ahead.

What I can't understand is why Little Horwood cannot be hired independently. As discussed many times, to cover hire costs, just charge a sensible amount at the gate.

Still RAF Cosford looks like a great substitute for this year. :D

I'm more than happy for any event to move away from the south and east. As a northerner it does seem that everything is held in the south east, so to hold an event to the west of Birmingham is a brave and bold move. As much planning, organising and sorting as you wish can take place - but it's a non-event without people and their cars. As a two day event on the 13/14 or 20/21 September I'm in. It makes it a lot easier for those in the north and west, and as the saying goes, "a change is as good as a rest".

I would suggest £5 per car per day. The idea being to get people there, not drive them away. Straight-forward voting on best of categories, maybe a raffle for something small but relevant, but the general idea being a gathering of like-minded folk, not a concourse event - and I can provide the hi-viz vests.

Excellent Neil, glad your in. :D

I think it will be a good change. The Little Horwood site is great, but things to do round that area are now totally exhausted.

The event is CXM - so anything with a X in it is more than welcome. I don't even see a problem with a GS or two, or a 2cv. But keep it light and airy so the event is the winner - no matter where it's held.

I've made my opinions on Little Horwood clear, I'm no fan of the place.

Interesting.....

Well this forum, FCC and BX club forums are all accessible, not part of the CCC and they are our main audience.
I will do some info posters and then they can be posted up in the relevant places.

I'm not sure why you don't like it, but it has full facilities on site with the clubhouse and a pub next door.

Seems a bit odd for the CCC to not want members to know about a CXM Rally. This has always been my reservation about car clubs, they can get parochial and insular.

The first time I went to CXM was not as a member and I liked the informal feel of the rally. The more formally organized events don't have the same level of interaction and fun. CXM was the best rally of the season.
