I spoke at great length with Nigel Wild at the Northern rally with regards to the CXM rally. He wasn't sure as to why Little Horwood was off the menu, so to speak, but he said he would find out.

I was then informed that Franklin was looking into alternative venues, which Franklin has since clarified and verified as to be inaccurate.

I've tried to organise an event at Rutland Water Wildlife Reserve, with limited success. The remit I was given, was to find a location with suitable facilities in the central area, ie the midlands. Not an easy task. Most venues require substantial amounts of cash up front to hire said venue and unfortunately I do not have access to such funds.

I do think that the CCC needs an events secretary to help with the organisation of rallies, rather than rely on individuals volunteering.

The events are always too far away.. this location is PERFECT for a change..

im all in on it. I asked tim aboit posting it on CCC fb page. But was it violation as its not CCC organised. Thats where tim comes into my talks .. thats all..

Seems a bit odd for the CCC to not want members to know about a CXM Rally. This has always been my reservation about car clubs, they can get parochial and insular.

The first time I went to CXM was not as a member and I liked the informal feel of the rally. The more formally organized events don't have the same level of interaction and fun. CXM was the best rally of the season.

CXM was always organised by CCC members: IE Mr and Mr Rugg. Though they arent dooing that this year, and so its being organised by NON CCC Members in high places, I just wanted to be sure that posting on a CCC FB page a rally has been organised by non CCC high place people would it be an issue.. I dont want to be upsetting people.

Little Horwood is ok, but be honest theres nothing much to do for "siblings" who tag along to do, for example X rally in Burleigh House, Peterborough has the house to goto .. Admittedly I dont seem to get time to do anything else when at the rally anyway, and Im delighted that it is further North for a change. Ive travelled south for the last few years so why cant others travel north for a change!

I liked Little Horwood because it was a full event in a private field with full facilities in the clubhouse, no other reason. As far as the event being at another location that's no issue to me.

What do you mean the event is being organised by non CCC people in high places?

Does anyone yet know how much the site at Little Horwood cost for the weekend?

Will... Being Selfish, I dont really want it in Little Horwood. Its a long way, and is for some other too no doubt..

LankyTim is not a CCC member ( I DONT Think, sorry Tim if you are), Im not strickly a CCC member Not that Im organising anything, just plugging and promoting it, CXM was organised by CCC Chairpersons, thats what I meant Will..

I believe it WAS something like £300 for the weekend for the basic hire of the field and clubhouse. But I think it is going up in price now. Others will know for sure.

That sounds cheap to me, £5 per car and you're in profit. Anything then made extra from the sale of food in the clubhouse and it's a winner.

My point is that if there is to be an event organised, that site appears cheap in comparison to others.

Its not though, as earlyer RAF Cosford, is even cheaper!! 3.50 a car! Whats wrong with that?
