I just point it out, because you think you're making things safer and by accident find out that new hoses perish a lot faster. It is one of the reasons I always keep a keen eye on fuel hoses.
perished cloth bound fuel hose is a major cause of fire on DS's
trouble these days everything is being faked so who's knows what you are using,
beside that at least with non cloth bound you can see the perisher

My CX has a fuel leak from replaced hoses with with this webbing on it. The hoses were about 6 years old, and the end had split. I couldn't see it because of the webbing. I agree with Malcolm on this one. You don't know what you are buying these days in some instances.
