I NEED SOME PARTS

Hello dear members.., greetings from Asuncion, Paraguay.

I have a 1992 V6.. 3.0 Lt.. 12 valve and a 5 speed.

I have been very lucky for the past few years and never did need to fix o replace anything on my sensational SM (apart from regular service and maintenance), but now I decided to fix, or replace, a few things to the car to bring it again at the level it deserves.

The dealer here do not carry any parts for the car, so I would like to know if you guys can provide me with a list of businesses (anywhere in Europe) where I can find the things I need...like plug wires, proper spark plugs, fuel inyectors, lights, sending units, etc, etc.

I thank you all in advance...regards,

Alberto

I don't think any dealers carry any xm parts now at all. UK owners relay on people who have second hand parts from cars they broke up.

After market things like spark plugs.. Brakes.. Exhausts can still be got.

I'm in The. UK and have some 1992 V6 parts left. You have put SM up but I assume you mean Xm. I'm sure I've seen some injectors on a fuel rail but will need to check. I understand the manual gearbox was a bit more. Common in Europe but in the UK once auto came along all v6 went auto. There's some early manual cars about. I have clutch cables for manual v6 but for rhd cars so no use for you either.

If the fuel injectors interest you I could possibly send them depending what the cost is now.

Headlights will be specific for lh market and rh market but side lights and rear lamps will be common to either. Also front fog lamp units another rare item in good order here in the UK. The side lamps are drying up too and we struggle in the UK too. They turn up on ebay now and again.

Hi. Thanks for your response. Sorry, you are right. Its for the XM.

I just thought that would be possible to find stores that sell parts for various Citroen models like the ones for Alfa Romeo (for example) like ClassicAlfa and Alfaholics in the UK, these companies carry almost everything I need for my Alfas regardless of the model and year.

Right now I would like to get:

spark plugs
spark plugs wires
fuel injectors
3 sensors located on the side of the engine (a green, a blue and a grey one) not sure what are they for, I think they are heat sensors.

Couldnt find anything in eBay either, but I did find a site in the UK (euroautoparts.com).., however, they dont have Paraguay in their list of countries, so I cannot do any purchases.

I thank you for your time...

Alberto

The three sensors are brown for maximum cooling fan speed.. Green water temp for the temp guage and third is for fueling via the engine computer..

Again pleanty if these here as they don't really go wrong but if your wanting some I'm sure we can get done together..
Spark plug wire ivasdume you mean the ht leads you may also want to consider the distributer arm and cap too as these are wear items.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Distributor- ... 890.l49292

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magnecor-KV8 ... 890.l49292

All expensive but all new..

Try a search on MisterAuto for common service items (plugs, filters, cables, brakes, thermostats, sensors, etc etc). If they don't ship to Paraguay, I think they have a sub-agent who will.
Some obsolete parts have been re-manufactured now, and you can search for them (using original part numbers) on Pieces de Rechange, a website run by PSA, and previously known as Heritage.
Citroen Classics (citroenclassics.co.uk) have some parts, and so do Garage80.nl (in Holland). Both ship internationally.

For XM parts in general, find the original Citroen part number (ask here if you can't find it), and just google that. It should show up whohas any for sale, including sources like eBay. It's what most of us do for difficult parts.

Dean purchased a set of new Seimens Deka 2892 injectors very cheaply, for his V6.

Here are some even cheaper.

You shouldn't have any difficulty obtaining spark plugs and a set of HT leads, they are widely available.
The water and air temperature sensors are also easily available as they are standard fuel injection items.

You would be best to obtain a set of parts manuals for the Xm.
There aren't any specialist suppliers, but searching by part number usually reveals a source, as many parts are common to a large number of manufacturers cars.
The V6-12v was a commonly used engine for Peugeot-Citroen, Renault, Volvo, Dodge, Eagle, Delorean.
