Agree - A very odd choice of colour for smartening up an old car. No wonder the cost was so high!
An original white respray would have been easier, less obvious, 'original', and (in white) much more forgiving.
But there you go . . . As a teenager, I resprayed my beige Vespa 125 in orange, and later (as a student favour to one of my college lecturers) respayed his Austin Minivan in Hammerite Bronze (his choice

) - a sort of poor man's Sable Phenicien.
Must also own up to a '59 Morris Mini in black (originally a plum colour, where the original paint was turning to powder) which became something of a oddity, with its carpeted roof lining and door cards, 1100 TC engine, pukka dash, P6 front seats, and finally an auto box. It was one of the first 500 off the production line, so never rusted.
