Right, my apologies, he has done those bits.

Question now is, does that make the car more desirable than the original colour? He must think so!

As you say, He must think so, but imho, black is the least desirable colour for an Xm, as it hides all the design details.
Polished black does look good in an indoor setting, with lights reflecting off it, but not so good outside in diffused daylight.

S2 wear it better than S1, but I would have chosen a lighter metallic, or pearlescent colour.

The XM is one of a small number of large cars that suit a light, bright colour over a dark one, the standard for large, executive cars. White, silver, gold, powder blue and even red highlight the design whilst dark blue, green and black do it no service.

I think that it is safe to assume that bidders are not members here... But the number of bidders is an indication that demand exceeds supply for good XMs.

I am a little suspicious of the condition of that one, under the shiny paint, but buyer beware.
