French Car Forum Down Yet Again

Post by CitroJim » Wed Jan 20, 2010 7:02 pm

 Sorry.

I's real proper broke this time and finally the host admit so. It has developed a nasty case of missing DLLs

I fear it may be down for a while as I'm busy now on training and have little access to a phone, time or enabled PC to do very much. I'm on ITIL training with homework and exams... One I must pass for my accreditation..

I'll call the host on a regular basis and report here until all is working again. At least they accept the problem and they let on to me today that every W2008 VPS they host is suffering the same. Wish they'd told me that back along...

One thing I do know is the databases are corrupt now and I'll have to roll back to this mornings' backup when the server is fixed.

If this outage looks prolonged, I shall invoke a contingency solution. This is unlikely before the weekend.

I'm also denied any email whilst this goes on.

My apologies...
Jim

Hi Jim - sad news.

Your back-up stops where? I ask as our interesting discussion on Activae is still open on my iPhone
and I can save some quite lengthy posts by us all (not just me! )

It stops at about 9.00am...

Of course I'm not sure what other posts were going on at the smae time.

Hi Jim

Sorry to hear its still giving you so much grief but i think you are best off sticking with the more important work stuff right now rather than worrying about the forum.
I know everyone is very gratefull of the hard work you put in and will accept that they will have to be without the forum for a little while, if they are desperate they can always post on here and we can get peter to talk them into buying 2.1TD XM's

Good luck Jim

Ah well; this site seems "homely" enough (even though I feel somewhat guilty about signing up for a website whose core item is something I could scarcely afford)!

Cheers, Adam.

not a bad idea actualy, what would the import tax be on 3 xm's in a container to OZ i wonder???? though i cant help thinking some of the more rust prone citroens deserve a pampered life in Australia more than the XM...how expensive is an XM there then Adam?

I think the cheapest XM in Australia would be free (towing cost) while a good one is still north of $4K (£2200). Yes, a V6 manual would be nice, but with whose money?

Hi Jim

Sorry about your ongoing problems but I'm sure nobody holds you personally responsible and I hope you do well in your exams.

Dean

I don't want anyone else buying 2.1s :( Although if those DVLC figures are right I've already got most of them. :D
