Filled the car up today

I found there was room for 77 litres in the tank, but it still wasn't showing 'on the line' empty. I know it's an 80 litre tank, but if it's anything like the Ulysee I had (same capacity) there's room for about 5 litres more in the neck! What's the situation re: XMs - do they in fact have the most accurate fuel gauge in history or are they for a rough guide only (same as the range indicated on the computer: apparently I had 38 miles left in the tank when I filled up)?

The fuel guages seem fairly accurate, though my diesel always starts spluttering and almost dying from 30miles downwards on the computer. In fact its the only one I've ever actually ran out of fuel in.

Anyway, the tanks, I was once able to fit over 90 litres in when filling from empty to the absolute brim, not bad going.

While we're on the subject, when I bought that series 1 a couple of years ago, I could brim the tank for £75, now the same fill costs over £100.... unbelivable....

Does anyone know how much is left in the tank when the light comes on?

I'd like to know the answer to that question as well. I hate going to filling stations, so want to get in as much as possible. The most i have ever got in was 82 litres, filled up to the gills. Sometimes I'm wary of pumps over reading as well!

Not according to mine, that says 8 litres. 13 litres is nearly 4 gallons.

I have done nearly 100 miles from the time the light started flashing, without running out, from full it will do 100 miles+ before the gauge comes off the full stop.

I set out from here to go to Winchester on Wednesday, a round trip of about 180 miles, when I left the gauge was on 1/4 full, I intended to fill up on the way but didn't, it had gone down to 1/8th when I got there, still didn't fill up, couldn't be bothered to stop, light had been on for about 40 miles when I got home, went out again the next day... I do believe in living dangerously :D 8-) 8-)
