NCT test passed - nearly

Well i took her in for an NCT today - these last 2 years here and are a bit more strict than the MOT. Anything i would have got as an advisory in the UK would have been a fail here. Anyway, I'm sorry to say she didn't pass, but only due to my stupidity and forgetfullness. Spent a while getting the headlights right, new wipers, forgot to fill the windscreen washer  - battery securer was lose through me swapping it for the one in my BX, and the middle rear seatbelt was stuck. Thankfully i did get a pass on all major items so no re-test fee. I just needed to sort the small things, so out tonight with washer fluid, battery clamp secured, and pulled apart the seatbelt and found a 20p stuck in there! removed and reassembled and all working fine, so down tomorrow morning hopefully for my certificate now those things are sorted.

The last few weeks the ABS light has been coming on more frequently, including earlier today, but proved well behaved as i had my fingers crossed. Thank god. 2 years more motoring. :D Why do we love these cars?!

All those items would fail a UK MOT test also and normally there would be no free retest. Good luck for tomorrow.

Free re-test is apparently down to Garage descretion... they choose if they charge or not, it says that on the fail sheet too ..... " a re test free MAY be charged ....."

I know if they do the work and re test then they dont.. unfortunally, my garage does charge for re-test.. which ever way.. but are quite easy with advisories instead of out right fails.
