Depressing Dealer Attitude

Ths stand in Xant decided to start losing some coolant earlier in the week, but I was mightily relieved to find it was a straightforward case of time expired radiator (Bottom tube(s) corroded through). Duly shopped round for new rad -- in stock locally for £75 plus the dreaded, then decided I ought to replace the seal rings on the end of the top and bottom hoses -- they are the push fit type. Rang Citroen Birmingham and asked, out of curiosity, the price of a bottom hose, plus availabilty and price for the seal rings. Response ? ' No mate, to order only -- what are they off ? ' Xantia replied I --- ' Don't see those anymore' said the dealer -- and that was that. No volunteering of time scale; no effort whatsoever to suggest alternative supply. Utterly, utterly dismal.
By contrast, local Pug dealer, who didn't have stock, volunteered staright away that next local dealer did, plus volunteered supply by the afternoon anyway. What a difference. Don't these deadheads realise their attitude makes a real difference to customers' perception and inclination to give them any further business ?

Because in these harder times his manager's boot should be firmly in contact with his backside ! Sloppy, sod it attitudes may be OK if everywhere is the same, but they are not --- and with over 2m unemployed, I would be looking for someone with more appropriate people skills. Rant over !

These tits are about everywhere unfortunately. Once I find a good dealer, or motor factor, they are rewarded with my repeat business.

Luckily my local Citroen dealer is good to me.

one of the parts guys is like this at my local dealer but the other is top notch and will do anything to find that part or confirm delivery times, some people are just like it, it is bloody irritating i agree.

Luckily there is only one parts guy on the Citroen Desk at my local dealer! However, I hate being served by his VAG colleague when I go to collect stuff.

If you're in Brum I'd reccomend Dave the Citroen Specialist in Stirchly. 0121 458 3111. I've taken both my XMs to him (and the Xant, BX and GSA i've had before) and he's always done stirling work.
