hello, I'm new here.! :D

I was just wondering if someone could give me a rough idea on the worth of an XM. 'Tis a 25td VSX estate car. What sort of price ranges would be suitable for a good one with MOT, and a very good one, and/or one that needs work etc. Also with high/low miles?

Ta muchly,

Rob.

Hi Rob

Welcome to the club. The value of an XM is about the same as a length of string, if I say anything from £100.00 for a tatty one to say £3000,00 for an immaculate one, that will give you some idea. Its all in the condition and even then its not straightforward, you could pay a lot of money for a very smart one only to find that it wants £1000 spent on the mechanicals.

Personally I prefer to buy a reasonably tidy one that needs mechanical work, my last 2.1 estate I paid £150.00 for but that was two years ago and things have changed a lot since then. In a couple of hours time, unless someone lists another one, there will be none for sale countrywide in the main suppliers. Autotrader and ebay.

Most for sale on ebay are in the £100 - 1,000 price range but whatever you buy it is almost certain to need some money spent on it. You really need someone who is an expert on your particular model to look it over for you.

Peter

Welcome Rob,

Where are you based?

A reasonably tidy 2.5 TD estate with highish mileage, rough price range of £400 - £800 depending on condition, T&T . Estates are sought after, and so are 2.5s. Its all luck of the draw whats for sale at the time, and where you're buying from.
