Been a post recently about XM press photos.
Had a flip through my copies and wondered where the cars are now?
In no particular order:
G210TYY - V6 Si - Oct 89
G220TYY - 2.0 - Oct 89
G212TYY - V6 SEi Auto - Oct 89
H24VCY - V6-24valve -
H28VCY - V6-24valve
K24UAC - 2.0 Si -
M979LJH - 2.5 TD Exclusive -July 94
K182BAN - 2.0 Si Turbo
M31LTH - 2.5 TD VSX -July 94
M980LJH - 2.5 TD VSX Estate - July 94
H617GDP - Towcar of the year 1991
I am sure there have been a few posts particularly about the earlier cars.
Paul, Andrew and anyone else please that can provide link information for these or add to the list.

Hi John,

I suspect they're all dummy numbers. DVLA always holds a set of registrations back
for press and film use knowing that there was a chance someone would clone them.
The fact there are x3 Swansea area registrations would confirm this for me.

None of these check out on a database search online.

Thanks Andrew, I was surprised that none of the 2.5 regs had cropped up over the years.
Never thought of that possibility.

The 24v V6 reg plates dont ring bells either... there were two Press 24v S1 cars, both Maroone, and both H reg, with DP reg numbers...

Ive got them both in magazines - somewhere... I dont recall the VCY reg plates..

My motor trade insurance ALSO cannot find those plates on any cars either... that H24VCY and H28VCY

H617GDP is no no find too...

Sorry if I say something stupid, but I never did/will understand the motor vehicle registration system in the UK.
Here in Japan, once you scrap a vehicle or export it for example, the registry is erased, totally erased that is, and the very same number NEVER recurs :?

Same here too Jan, UNLESS the owner has transfered the number off the car - in which it has to be Tax'd and MOT'd before you can do that... the plate can be put on any car thats OLDER then the Reg prefex or suffex letter - each letter representing a year.

TV and Press disguise cars a lot and use false plates for filming, however, some dont and get through to private owners...
