Hello
Hi folks, and welcome to the new site, at its temporary location.
It is hoped over the next few days, we can finalise a permament name for the new forum, as well as decide on forum names, layouts etc. When this is all done, we can sort out additional board administrators etc, and of course there is the all important issue of previous content.
If anyone has any trouble registering, please let me know (obviously on one of the other sites if you can't get on here )
Ciarán

Re: Hello
Well hello there Jim, fancy seeing you here!
Yep, am a big fan of PhpBB, I ran several large sites on it 7 or 8 years ago, and it was great even back then. Version 3 seems even better.
Plus, as you probably well know from FCF, its probably the most versatile and well supported board from an addons / extras point of view.
When I get some more time later today I'll see about tweaking it some. I've just enabled the old 'subsilver' theme for those who prefer the old style look.

Re: Hello
I'm planning to upgrade the FCF and BXC to phpBB3 in the near future Ciarán. In fact I've been planning to do it "in the near future" for about a year now I've done several trial off-line conversions on the FCF and BXC and each time all has gone smoothly.Ciaran wrote: Yep, am a big fan of PhpBB, I ran several large sites on it 7 or 8 years ago, and it was great even back then. Our current phpBB2 has a few anti-spambot MODS and these work brilliantly well. The one thing that has delayed me upgrading is my confidence that phpBB3 offers the same level of anti-spambot protection. Have you put any MODS in place or is it running "out of the box"?
I'd be grateful for your experience and wisdom in this area Ciarán It's grate this board is up and running as nowe I have a chance to really use a phpBB3 board for the first time.
How are you handling images on here? Are you allowing us to embed them?
As for content, I'm sure we'll soon get it well filled. I have loads, besides the 4HP20, I can contribute.

Re: Hello
I quite like the default "subsilver" theme here.
I've seen a few customised phpBB3 boards and frankly they look appalling...
