Hi Ciaran.
Is there any reason why I'm having to enter my details almost on a daily basis? Almost every time I open the forum page I have to log in. It's not a problem but a bit of a nuisance, I was in the forum in the morning okay but on entering tonight I had to login again.
Bob.

All forums use automatic logout, this one is the longest I have known, but if you want automatic log-in everytime you visit just tick the Log me in automatically box when you next log in.

Hi Bob
It started doing this after it went down the other day, I was having the same trouble, kept ticking the box and it still logged me out, but as dieselman says if you tick it now it should keep you logged in.

Hi all.
I was ticking the correct box okay but it didn't do any good, but it was okay today. Like Peter I only got this problem after the site last went down, hopefully sorted now.
Bob.

Hi guys,
If its any consolation, on Saturday night I saw this post, and sat typing a long and detailed explanation of why this problem is occurring, went to post it, and the bastard thing dumped me back at the login screen, loosing the entire message
Unfortunately I'm at work at the moment and time is a bit limited, however in a nutshell, this issue was caused by the server clock being reset to 01/01/2000 00:00. This caused any cookies (which are used for the auto-login) that were issued by the site to be invalid, because they were miles out of date, so despite the fact that you had ticked the 'keep me logged in' box, the cookie would be invalid, hence the site would constantly prompt for details.
The solution, for anyone that's still having the issue, is to simply clear your cookies, close your browser, and return to the site

Hi Ciaran
I noticed that the clock was set to '2000' and thought it might have something to do with it, although I know nothing about these things. Could this 'cookie' problem be anything do do with my not being able to recieve reply notifications?
Peter

Probably Citroen thought enough is enough with these XM's coming back to dealers under warranty repairs and therefore threw in the towel and then left it to us lot on here to keep the beast's maintained and kept on the roads !

Citroen came up with a far better wheeze than that.
My local dealer mentioned that they were made directly responsible for all warranty costs.
