Ancient and modern

Post by Peter.N. » Fri Jun 12, 2009 6:21 pm

I went to a small local classic car show last weekend, amongst other things they had a Humber Hawk and a Snipe, cars I had in their first incarnation. What really surprised me about them was their size, I reckon if anything they were bigger than the XM and still looked nice inside, real walnut, red leather bench seats , a comfortable six seater.

Ah, beautiful, classic examples of large British family saloons :D Nostalgic. Perhaps some 50 years later someone will say the same about the XM

I think if you look at quite a number of pre war models, there was real space in the back -- often, maybe, at the expense of a usable boot. Also much more real wood and leather (and Bakelite !).
