What should I save from my soon to be scrapped XM?

My 2.5 TD XM is off for its final journey soon. Before it goes I'd like to get as many useful parts off it as I can. I'm going to take the obvious bits, lights, good spare wheel and so on but I'd be grateful for any other suggestions.

I only replaced the strut tops a couple of years ago so I was wondering if it would be straightforward to remove those and worth doing so? The left-hand matrix is pretty good too. How easy is it to get this out?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Eifion

Definitly take off the strut tops, especially as they are fairly new. If you dont want the whole strut just undo the four bolts to the wing and the centre bolt to the strut. You also need to remove the sphere and pipe, being a front one it should come undone easily. It might be a good idea to advertise the fact that you are breaking it on ebay, if you don't want to dismantle it yourself, buyers may be prepared to come and remove what they want

I guess that they can always be saved, but this one seems to have reached the point where I'm going to be welding it more and more to keep it on the road. If you want to come and take a look at it, feel free. I'll give you a ride in my DS.
