Back Again!

Post by Richard » Tue Jun 23, 2009 8:48 am

My apologies for the absence from the forum. There's been something of a health problem here.

Both my wife and I have a long standing blood sugar problem - it goes back eight years. This year it's got so much worse. A string of blood tests later and we both feel we've been fobbed off by the doctors.

Not that I'm complaining about doctors, but I believe they are working within government constraints which don't help us.

We took some time out. First to get ourselves back up where we can live again, and then to research the problem and find out what else we can do to help ourselves. There's a whole lot out there.

So... back on line.

Hi Richard

Welcome back. I was diagnosed with diabetes two or three years ago, but in my case I have benifited considerably from it. Since I've been on medication I have lost a couple of stone, my sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure are all good and I feel fitter than I have in years! :D I hope you can get your problems sorted out soon.

Good to hear you and your wife are both getting on top of it now Richard.

Wish I was. It's interesting to hear your comments on the Doctors as I'm currently going through
this myself and am not too sure/impressed with what they're saying and have had blood tests etc...

the totally debilitating migraines etc are totally knackering me up and all symptoms point to
diabetes but apparently I'm NOT. I just need to keep a diary and watch my diet !?

These boards usually work on the basis that the message stays in your outbox until the recipient reads it - then it moves to your sent box. I'm sure it was logical to someone once

It's OK when it works. But thanks, I didn't know that one. Just proves you live and learn.

Hi Richard.

Thank YOU for taking the time and trouble to pm me earlier, I have indeed only just seen the pm and IT IS appreciated!
I'm sure I'll be sitting down later and mulling over your comments and will no doubt have a few queries.

All the best,
Andrew

Interesting conversation. Firstly I hope you and your Wife are well on the mend Richard.

For years and years I suffered with awful headaches and migraines, which unfortunately I have passed onto my daughter. She has some really miserable days. Also for as long as I can remember I have suffered with chronic backache. About thirty years ago I worked with a lad who was training to be a homeopath. We used to go mountaineering together so he got to know about my aches and pains! :D He asked if I would be his guinea pig during his studies so I agreed as doctors and hospitals didn't seem to make any difference! It took a long time before anything seemed to happen as homeopathy is a very drawn out process. However one day after trying yet another remedy I suddenly realised the back pain had gone. It was amazing. I followed a course of treatment just to be sure and it never re appeared in any great severity for years. Even now it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be and tends to show up when I've been a bit stupid and done a bit too much heavy work. He even found a remedy which took my headaches away although that took longer than the backache remedy.

One of my sisters in law is a specialist chest nurse and is extremely good at her job, but mention homeopathy and she's not interested, she'll tell you it's the biggest con going. Well I will tell you it isn't a con and it does work but you have to give it time. My mom's dog had arthritis and couldn't stand on her back legs. I mentioned this to my pal and he prescribed her a remedy. We used to treat her daily and she used to run round like a puppy. Now in my mind that really is proof that it works. Try making a few enquiries, everything is treatable.
