A new jack!

Post by steelcityuk » Fri Mar 02, 2012 11:34 pm

Hi All,

I've been eyeing up one of these since getting a Costco card, kept promising myself one but never go around to it until last weekend. It even fits under the SED when she's fully down. With a 3000Kg capacity lifting the SED is no problem, I like the saddle pad too, no scratching paint off the underside.

They are very handy, I could use one of those.

I have a set of wind up ramps for the most crippled of Citroens.

Are those Volvo alloy wheels?

Looks just the job that. I still have and use a Bradbury jack that I bought in about 1964 for £27.50 which was over a weeks wages then, its very heavy by modern standards and has a nice 'engineering quality' feel to it and its very easy to use.

I also have one of those jacks and it's been excellent. Better than the Sealey, Yankee it replaced.

Very nice jack Steve and I can certainly see the advantages with a hydraulic Citroen! If you don't mind me asking, how expensive are they? With regards, Matthew T.

They are so handy and that one looks really nice Steve, mine is a sip i think, low entry 3t rocket lift, looks exactly the same as yours it just has slightly wider front rollers and is a little longer but how i ever lived with the 1t £25 argos rubbish i dont know, mine was about £120 from memory and although a fair wedge of money its well worth it.

Hi All,

The jack cost £82.98 inc vat. It's a quick lift type. Same as this

I bought a 3 ton jack from the Halfords Advanced range, seems very good quality and its a speedylift too. Comes with a lifetime guarantee.

http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... e=shopping

Its currently at £99 but I think it was on offer at £60 when I bought it and it was down to something ridiculous like £39 with my Halfords trade card.

For rescuing stranded Citroen's we've got a Draper air jack.

Works brilliantly as it'll go under a S1 on it's bump stops with a flat tyre.

Seems Draper have discontinued it now though which is a shame.
