They make me quite ill from the unreasonable amount of stress they cause me leading up to the event even though a pass is the normal result with kind words from the MOT tester..

It doesn't matter one jot for I'll always be a complete wreck before and during the MOT. Even if the car passes it still takes me a couple of days to recover from the trauma.

MOT for me yesterday on the Multipla. Last year it threw up issues that ended up costing the neck end of a grand, this year all it took was a new wiper blade, and I don't think that needed doing.
Next up will be the 2CV but that's not for a few months. Hope I find a tester old enough to have some sympathy with an older car.

My newly acquired C5 passed yesterday, only needed a suspension bush. My MOT bloke is brilliant, I took the suspension arm over to him yesterday morning, he pressed the bush in for me, I refitted the arm and took the car over in the afternoon - MOT cerificate. Total cost about £11.00 + the mot of course.

Is it worth giving the old girl a quick blast up the motorway and lock the auto in 3rd for the emissions test? She runs well, with no black soot, thanks to regular doses of Millers.

Mine used to have an XM years ago and understands old Cits. He's one of the old school back-street little Indys. Going in to his premises is like going back in time 30 years. Even his MOT bay is in a wooden shed His MOT kit is the latest and greatest though...

So they're the best. Steer clear of the chains. They'll have no idea what a kingpin is, let alone the allowable play.. As them what a kingpin is and they'll likely say one of Elvis's legs...

I have my MoT on Thursday for my 2.5 for the past two years running it has failed only on the sills, with the second year because of tyre fitting monkeys jacking it up at the wrong place.

However the sills are rusting, and around the two jobs of welding it doesn't look very pretty. I found a small hole which I patched up and have painted the sills with underseal but I fear that a good hard poke with a screwdriver may expose a weak area and present me with a fail certificate. Any work needing doing can be done by the MoT station which is another old school backstreet garage who are very trustworthy.

However I'm a bit concerned about the aesthetics of it, is it possible to get some nice sills off a donor car and weld them onto my car or is this infeasible?
