CRASHED! Nearside saloon ABS trailing arm totally KNACKERED!

The C5 has Michelins, uses the same size tyres as both xms, its got older E3As on the back and the newer energysavers on the front. Really not a huge fan of them actually, the front end grips well even in the wet and ive never had a problem with the back end either but the energysavers have such a soft sidewall that they always look soft, the tyres wear out on the edges and the steering is really very numb (i know its a C5 but its totally lifeless). They dont half squeal when being tormented too! The fronts are about worn out and the edges about bald so i think ill be going for something else when the time comes, i dont rate michelins.

My Energies squealed when not being tormented. Just driving round a roundabout behind a milk float was enough! The old Mitchelin Primacies were great, but the Energies are awful in my experience. I am on Pirrelli now and am fairly happy with them.

You're right Dean; Mr Hallworth had his trailer relieved from his ownership.

I suffered a break in into one of the barns where mountains of carefully considered purchases/rescued
salvaged items etc off Citroens in all shapes and sizes were stolen likely by Pikeys to weigh in for a
pittance when scrap values were sky high through the roof and everything and anything was walking
- must've lost close to £5k of items from sets of new alloys & tyres (some mega rare TRX metric CX
rims) and gearboxes and radiators among a raft of stuff.

I'm still missing items even now where I find something I thought I had has gone - burning at the stake
would be too good for some scum out there...

Anyhow, yes I did recover the 3 wheeled Xm myself Chris. It was a bit challenging and took a fair
bit of head time to plan a means for collection as the road it was stranded on is a very busy one
with no room to get a trailer near to winch it on - in the end I substituted the rear nearside
corner with my 3.5tinne big trolley jack

Won't an XM run without a rear wheel as other hydropneumatic Cit's do.? Start up, select high mode, drive away.

Nope - tried it on high even, and NO it didn't work - only the G, D and CX it seems.

How strange! Perhaps the suspension isn't as long travel enough? To go off on a tangent, is the XM anywhere near as brilliant as the CX in snow?

I did this with my BX estate, I drove it around the yard on 3 wheels, the only snag every now and again was that the metal guard screwed onto the trailing arm would rub on the ground every now and again.
