I'm still here!

Post by CitroJim » Mon Dec 10, 2012 2:21 pm

Just in case anyone, especially Paul (citroenxm!), was wondering... I'm still here but not well :( I'm in a very bad place at the moment but slowly recovering...

Paul was the last person to see me alive as it were as we enjoyed a very pleasant meal and a natter on Thursday during my epic tour of Wales to deliver Paul some wheels and bring my daughter home from uni.

I can currently read posts but making sense of them and making any sensible reply is another thing entirely. I'll be back when I've recovered a bit more...

All been done Campbell. I expect just like Mrs. MO I've had every test going and all come back normal

Shame really as it promised to be a great road trip...

After seeing Paul and enjoying an excellent evening I stayed the night in a Premier Inn in Llandudno and then early next morning I made my way down to Aberystwyth along the A470 mountain road through Betws-y-coed, Blaenu Ffestiniog, Dolgellau and Machynlleth. It's a beautiful road but such a difficult drive when you're not good. I had a sort of frightening 'detached' feeling and had to concentrate really hard on the drive. I was exhausted when I reached Robyn's place in Aber and needed to rest up. We then drove home and I immediately then just crumpled up and flaked out. I'm just now starting to emerge from what is termed a 'crash'. To be honest I was lucky not to crash the car it was that bad :(

What really worried me was I must have not been driving very fast as I always seemed to have a frustrated car or van right on my tail. Scary...

About all I recall of the trip is there was snow on the top of Snowden...

Bit of a wake-up call (again  ) I may not attempt a long journey for a while now and not unless I'm really feeling fit.

I'm thinking I should have done the trip in the XM. I made a last-minute decision to take the Xantia V6 and perhaps that was the wrong choice of car. I took the Xantia because it was a lot less frozen than the XM. It was so well iced up I couldn't even open the doors :o
