But not so rare as you can´t get parts without phoning twenty mechanics in an afternoon. I had to do this to source some ABS sensors!
Would we be happier if XMs were as common as, say, W-124 Mercedes? That would a nicer status. Not common but not wierdly rare. I would prefer that.
As it is though increasingly people stop me in the street and say what a nice car the XM is. That´s pleasant. The people in their early 20s are especially impressed as they usually have never seen one before.

The thing with Mercedes is they still support their old models... where as Citroen start closing support down when cars pass ten years old..


the French shoot themselves in the foot.. they should support the older cars but they don't want to..

hence the spares dwindle..

New figures just out for Q1 2013.

Total XM on the road = 600
Series 1 = 144
Series 2 = 456

Figures for Q1 2012

Total = 774
Series 1 = 199
Series 2 = 575

And Ive tried with S1 cars. Bought two in the last 12 months, and saved both. The J reg breaker has been in my possesion for about 2 years... on SORN..

Many thanks for flagging that up Will and here the current figures for S1 V6:
V6 si man - 0 lic 8 sorn
V6 si auto - 0 lic 1 sorn
V6 sei man - 1 lic 14 sorn
V6 sei auto - 2 lic 14 sorn
V6 24v - 3 lic 9 sorn
All models are no pretty scarce then with the V6 si models rarest of all! Only 6 S1 V6 in total on the road at present!!
