586 on the road (S1 = 167, S2 = 419)
515 SORN. (S1 = 264, S2 = 251)

Total S1 = 431
Total S2 = 670

Total = 1101

I suspect most of the Series 1 on SORN won't ever go back on the road.
Q2-2014, to end of June 2014.

465 on the road. (S1= 124, S2 = 341)

575 SORN.

Total left 1040.

Well I just changed the numbers.. One less S1 on SORN - out of the other S1s here, well one more might one day go back on the road.. no idea yet...

25% reduction in S1 cars on the road, 18% reduction in S2.

No matter which way you look at it that's not good.

Sorry, I contributed to one of those S1 losses. Not my fault though....

That is quite a difference in numbers. Really isn't good.

Nuts, I bought my 2.1 Manual S2 VSX in early to mid 2011 when there was around 152, now there's only 72.

How do you find the combined figures these days for all XMs?

EDIT: Just had a look at Peugeot 605's they're looking a bit sad too. There are only 11 SRDT Manuals. Mine's on SORN at the moment until I get the injection pump back on.

I wonder what happens to cars when the Sorn declaration is left to slip, for the first couple of years i kept mine sorn as i got the renewal notifications but the letters stopped coming and i forgot and well..................
So mine is neither sorn nor taxed, does it vanish off the system?

No it does not.

SORN ceased to require annual renewal about a year ago.
While this MAY apply to your XM it is important to check your car had not previously lapsed.
Since that SORN change they have now introduced mandatory insurance for all vehicles except those declared SORN.
Under current law even if the vehicle is stored off road insurance for road is required if it is not declared SORN.

Only vehicles that were off road not taxed before SORN was first introduced are exempt.
And those only if they have not since been taxed OR MOTed.

If moving SORN vehicles on a trailer the number plates are required to be removed or obscured by tape.
ANPR will treat any visible number plate as an on road vehicle.
If driving SORN vehicles to and from MOT obtain and carry documentation of booking.

You can check your vehicles current recorded state Dean on the DVLA vehicle enquiry website.
