XM and CX seats

Hi
Would appreciate opinions on XM front seats, and XM seating position, versus CX. Especially from anyone driving both cars in recent times. Drivers seat that is.
I'm struggling with backache in XM after about an hour's driving despite trying various positions, lumbar support, sitting properly, moving around etc. I'm 6'4" which doesnt help. Some weeks I actually think the XM is aggravating my back problem rather than helping it, despite the cars otherwise supreme comfort. I have always felt the need to get the drivers seat lower and further back in the XM.
It's a long while since I drove a CX but I remember sitting lower and that seating position was more like SM. I was wondering whether a CX might be a better bet for a middle aged bloke with backache!
Cheers
Marc

I found both the CX and the XM seats comfortable but I am only 6' (or was) my son drives my XM and finds the seats comfortable and he is 6' 4" and usually pretty fussy about seats. I find that a lot of seats don't support me under the legs, the C5 for one, so I have put some spacers under the front which has made it much more comfortable. The most comfortable seats I have found in a modern car are the ones in my 406 Hdi GLX estate, but I think it all depends on your size and shape.

The Xm seats lack proper low down lumbar support. I drove my series 1 CX briefly at the weekend, and the seats are super soft in it, but they also have no lumbar support. Series 2 CX seats are probably a bit better than the series 1 CX seats.
Xantia seats are pretty bad for under leg support, but have lumbar adjustment.
I like the standard BX seats, very nice and comfortable.

Never driven a CX or a BX but for me the XM seats are the absolute tops and beat the Xantia seats hands-down. Only the genuine Activa S1 leathers come anywhere close...

We must do a back to back comparison test at the X rally Franklin.
If CX ones are better then they must be bloody excellent....

They're very comfortable, but as Robert says, not too much to do with the holding you in while rolling round a roundabout, aka davetherave style!

Those leather seats are ace, however not the most comfortable! Series 1 seats are the best, with the best being a set of blue cloth seats in a Safari we had years ago. Series 1 Leather seats are very nice indeed, especially in a Prestige...

BX valver seats take some beating. On the Citroen Classic Challenge we were doing 10 hr days behind the wheel and I felt totally comfortable at the end of the day.

A CX at full-lean.
That's a cracking photo of Dave's car Franklin. Was that taken in Milton Keynes during CXM by any chance?
